Why Obama Won

On a popular basis it was close 50% to 48%, I believe, the favor of the Illinois Senator. But on the electoral basis, honey, we are talking a landslide victory for Obama. What happened?
many people have been angry or overjoyed about the results. But I was not suprised. The fact was that McCain had too many things going against him.
1. Too Old. Not camera freindly in appearence, and people worried about his health.
2. Too moderate. Yup, conservatives didn't trust McCain. They were right not to. He compromised on Gay Marriage(huge mistake!). and his abortion record is trouble. He only opposed abortion at the federal level. He said in his final debate that the states should decide the issue. That's not what Huckabee thought. And he supported change in the environment. all in all, McCain was a pretty nice guy. Therefore, he'd make a horrible conservative.
3. Obama. he's obviously one of those kind of politicians that onyl pop up once in a while. His stirring speech and massive reform plans stand to make him the next Roosevelt. He emerged to offer the Democratic Party its salvation and not a moment too soon. How on earth could McCain, or anyone, stand up to this?
4. Rove Paradigm obsolete. The news, documentary makers, etc. have gone into detail about Rove's tactics. They broke down his strategy of smear campaigns in the Bush/ Kerry election in '04. The information is public, and now when McCain's boys tried to do the same thing it was recognized for what it was. Pure bullshit. Those final days had the GOP throwing everything they got at Mr. Obama, but to avail. Everyone knew what they were up to.
5. Poor pick in VP. The opinion that Sarah Palin is an idiot caught on fire FAST! Obama should sincerely thank Fey for her dead on portrayal which turned Americans approval of this next "Maverick" into mocking laughter. Not only that but she didn't coincide with McCain's moderate views. They split (predictably) on Gay marraige. Thats never good to have a campaign divided amongst itself.

Those i think are some significant reasons why Obama pulled the victory off that he did.

Reboot for Spiderman. ULTIMATE

With three movies under his belt, it is confirmed that the worlds' greatest superhero is going to have fourth and fifth movies being produced in the coming years. as far as we know Spiderman Four and Five will be filmed back to back and have Sam Raimi directing. Tobey Maguire is also set to return as Peter Parker/Spiderman.
The question, however, must be raised. shouldn't they reboot the franchise?
Now this wouldn't be for the same reason that Hulk,Punisher, and Batman got rebooted, because the Spider-man trilogies were good movies. Although, deeply criticized, Spiderman 3 was a true artistic masterpiece which blended the cheesy love drama of the first two films with a cynical humor along with darker undertones. It was the only movie with an obvious moral: "Whatever battles we may have raging inside us we always have a choice."
Sm 3 made changes to Venom's general appearance. I found the lithe sleek Venom to be an improvement to the bulkier one (though I'm also a fan of the original). The action sequences themselves were simply amazing; although definitely Venom could have used an extra twenty minutes at least.
At any rate you may be asking yourself that if I enjoyed the movies so much, why reboot the franchise? Although this trilogy has been enjoyable it wasn't what it could have been. Spiderman was not enough like the source material. Not in shallow terms of appearance (purists whine about mass size and logo designs of characters), but in terms fo personality. The phenominal cartoon series the Spectacular Spiderman is much more what I'm talking about.
here, Spiderman is a wisecracing smart ass: not whiney and overly sentimental. Eddie Brock though self-centered in Sm3, was not the borderline psychotic (almost mysogenistic) villain he is in Spectacular Spidey.
an even better treatment of Spiderman is Ultimate Spiderman. This simply amazing graphic novel series has those previously mentioned elements, but also has this majestic; epic feel about it. Perfect material for some movies.
This comic book series was being produced during the same time as the movies, so we can't blame Raimi and co. for not following them. But now they should certainly take a look at these comics now that they are talking about more movies.
just imagine these brilliant improvements presented on the silver screen. Osborn is not some nut in a power ranger suit, he an actually genetic mutation that resembles a goblin. The Symbiont isn't some asteroid full of ooze which just happens to crash in central park, it was a man made cure for cancer gone wrong. And MJ, instead fo being some ditz perpetually kidnapped and having to be rescued in a really outdated manner, she's a realistic person with a more lovable less annoying side and inherits a horrible curse of her own. This series has it all! It even has that witty humorous side of Spidey I mentioned earlier.
Sam Raimi has a very old fashioned touch to his movies, but its just a little too old fashioned. Batman was upgraded (astoundingly well) by Nolan. Its time Spiderman was modernized. The creators of Ultimate Spiderman have done just that. Their work deserves more recognition.
As for Tobey Maguire casting him as Peter was a huge mistake; i could see that when everyone else was calling him the finest actor of our time in the first movie. They need to cast an actual 15 year old; one who can grow into the role of Spiderman not get all chunky!
Of course this won't happen now. Bad reviews or not Sm3 pulled in astonishing box office numbers, and Raimi produced two earlier films that really touched the country's hearts. They're hoping he can deliver again. Soon when enough time has passed, someone will take a look at those comics and say "Wow, can't you see it? 'Ultimate Spiderman'. It'll be awesome!"
I just hope it won't take too long.

i agree with robertiskkool23, hes right u guys are fagish comic book nerds fuck faces now go fuck yoyrselves u dipshits!

Now, after reading that, it shouldn't be difficult to understand my question. That being what causes youtubers to be so angry? "I will slice your throat an shit in your neck" is perhaps the most extreme, but "faggot!" is thrown around alot, as are other obsenities. I'm hardly a sunday school teacher, and the use if obsenities doesn't particularly bother me, but what is distrubing is the hatred found by bloggers and youtube commentors across the cyber space. i am curious to know what cuases such anger and am laying out some probable cuases:

Generation: It has been suggested that this is due to today's genreation which has everything money can by, and yet has nothing. The fact that Nirvana and Eminem are farcries away from Csny emboianing a previous generations call for peace and sensuality, or even Frank Zappa who was very cynical of the whole hippie movement expressed himself in a most constructive manner. These facts can hardly be ingored even for someone like myself who doesn't fully buy this explanation. Which isn't much of one by the way. What is it that makes this generation angrier and more hateful anyway? In the 60's it was all: "Love your brother" and "peace". Now its "nigga" "Fag" "Bitch" etc.
Obviously, something changed. There is certainly a lot more frustration amongst the youth now, or at least it is being more accurately expressed. Perhaps the aftermath of veitman left broken families behind across the country. Perhaps the aftermath of the movements of the 60's themselves did not end so well either. The Black Panthers, for instance, became the foundation for the first gangs that would become the norm in large inner cities. Reagen's sentiment may have had something to do with it (the Russian fear was revived in the 80's for better or for worse). The rise of AIDS and homosexuals coming "out of the closet" added new fears for the general audience. crime rose. That dream of peace if it ever even existed left us, enter rap, grunge, slasher films, and the whole set of the 80's and 90's and you have us here. things changed, who knows why, but they did, and thats one possible explanation.

Anonymity: As a branch off of Milton's controversial experiments, another was done. This one involved women torturing each other with "Shocking" machines (of course not authentic. like Milton's the victims were actors in on the experiment). The experiment found that when wearing KKK-style hoods, the torturers would act with much more cruelty. This showed that people will act badly if they think they can get away with it. Is this perhaps what is happening on youtube? All the commenters are writing under catchy one-phrased pseudonyms; savagenoble7 or my previous lucudis3, for example. No one knows, under most circumstances, who is actually writing these comments so therefore they feel complete freedom to say whatever they want. In a real conversation, people may restrain themselves when debating with another person for fear of breaking the social norm of courtesy. On youtube, anything goes so these inhibitions are completely unrestrained.

Polarization: different things attract different people. There are general audiences, but the crowd of people who went to see "Star Wars" differ from th crowd of people who went to see the "Titanic". Many people watch youtube, but not everyone comments. I know some people who don't even have an account, and just passively watch. The people who comment may in fact be angry, depressed, and lonely individuals who have no other life and need a place to vent. youtube is a dream come true. These people had no voice in the past (youtube didn't exist in the 60's) and can be heard for the first time now. Coupled with the fact that there anonymous and you might find the situation above.

Anyways, those are some possible theories on you tuber's anger. I'm sure there are others. If you have any reasons on why youtubers are so angry or if you are an angry youtuber and would like to share with us why, just comment...nicely.
